Jewelry Care

What is the jewelry made of?

Our jewelry is made by hand to order in 925 sterling silver. It is a high-quality alloy that contains at least 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. The resulting alloy strengthens the silver. All of our jewelry are stamped with “925”.

How should I take care of my jewelry?

Keep your jewelry in a cool dry place when not worn. Remember to always apply perfumes, cosmetics, sunscreen, hair care products, etc. before wearing your jewelry. Take off the jewelry before swimming and showering, but it isn't going to do any lasting damage if you accidentally forget to remove them, just make sure to rinse and clean it afterward.

How should I clean my jewelry at home?

Soak your jewelry in a mixture of lukewarm water and detergent-free soap. Gently rub the jewelry with your finger or a soft bristle brush and carefully dry it.

Will silver jewelry tarnish?

All silver jewelry will lose its shine over time. The speed and amount of oxidation are dependent on the skin's PH level, the care habits of the wearer, etc. It's better for your jewelry to be worn regularly as used jewelry will not easily get tarnished.

What is the best way to remove tarnish?

Toothpaste is the best item you can use to clean tarnished sterling silver jewelry.

Avoid using toothpaste that contains whitening and tartar-control agents as they can be harmful to the silver jewelry. Do not use gel toothpaste because it has no content of baking soda and it isn't abrasive enough to remove tarnish from silver jewelry.

Step 1:

Make the silver jewelry wet as it will help soften the toothpaste and make it easier to spread.

Step 2:

Add a little toothpaste to the silver jewelry and rubbing it gently with your finger or a piece of soft moistened cloth.

Step 3:

Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to clean out stubborn tarnish or parts that are hard to reach.

Step 4:

Let the toothpaste sit for 2-5 minutes.

Step 5:

Wipe off the residue to check if the tarnish has been removed. If not, keep adding the toothpaste and rubbing it off until it becomes brighter.

Step 6:

Rinse the silver jewelry in water or warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Wait until it dries completely before storing it.

How long does gold-plated jewelry last?

Gold-plated jewelry is a great way to add a touch of luxury to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.

However, it is not as durable as solid gold jewelry and will eventually fade over time. Gold-plated jewelry can last anywhere from several months to a few years depending on how often it is worn and how well it is taken care of.

The best way to restore gold-plated jewelry is to have the piece re-plated. You can take your jewelry to a local jewelry store and have them re-plate the jewelry for you. You can also send the item back to us for replating, our replate service is available to Malaysian residents only.
